Murrhardt. Even the Romans settled here. And they knew why. Around 200 AD, there was a fort with a settlement in the area of today's Riesberg, which the Romans called ‘vicus murrensis’ (village on the Murr). Today you can explore the remains of the watchtowers on the Limes here.

Located in the heart of the Swabian Forest, Murrhardt has been home to the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park Centre for several years. Want to sniff the forest air? The Murrhardt forest is ideal for hiking, horse riding and getting a taste of the forest.

The densely wooded mountains with their plateau-like heights and rugged Keuper gorges offer nature enjoyment at any time of year. Or how about a trip to the Hörschbach waterfalls?
The Eugen Nägele Youth Hostel Murrhardt is located on the northern edge of the town on the road to Karnsberg.
